Why Pawshake needs additional information from sitters
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requires digital platforms like Pawshake to report certain information about services completed through the platform. This reporting helps the ATO understand income earned through sharing-economy activities in Australia.
Because of these requirements, Pawshake must ensure that sitter accounts contain the necessary information so we can meet our obligations.
How do you submit your information?
When you log in, you will be guided through any steps you need to complete.
Everything will be clearly shown to you inside your account
You can access this by logging into your account and navigating to Profile > Tax Information.

Reporting
If your account contains official reporting, your report will be available to download in the Tax section of your dashboard. The file is provided in a .csv format; while the exact steps to open it may vary depending on your preferred spreadsheet software, you can follow the steps below to open it using Microsoft Excel.

- Click the letter A at the very top to highlight the entire first column.
- Go to the Data tab and click Text to Columns.
- Select Delimited and hit Next.
- Check the box for Comma and uncheck everything else.
- Click Finish.
