Step 1: Your default settings
Decide how many bookings you can usually take on on each day of the week. Let's say you can board two dogs on a Monday: if you have two bookings for one dog each, or one booking for two dogs, your calendar will be set to unavailable for further bookings for this service only. You are fully booked after all.
Repeat clients only
Want to keep on working for the same clients only? No problem. Just check "Repeat clients only". This means that only pet owners who have previously booked you can find your profile. You can now decide this per service as well.
One booking at a time
Select this if you want to accept only one booking at a time, regardless of the service. This will be shown on your public profile.
Away mode
If you are temporarily not active on Pawshake and/or you know you can't reply to booking requests (e.g. on holiday), make sure to put your profile on away mode so pet owners are not able to contact you in the meantime.
Step 2: Advanced settings
Got more availability than usual, or less, on a certain day? No problem. Click on that day in the calendar, and in the pop-up you get, you can change the number of spaces/bookings for each service you offer.
If you want to turn off one service for specific days, just set the number of spaces or bookings to zero.
Marking yourself as unavailable for a day - or several
If you're not able to petsit for a day, or for a few days, or have enough bookings across all services, click on the day in the calendar, and click on "Mark all services as unavailable" (which sets all services to zero), and then "Save".
Changing the availability for several days at once
At the top of the pop-up, the date range reflects the day you clicked initially. If you would like to change the availability for several days at once, you can select a date range. All changes you make are then applied to all the days you included.
How many spaces or bookings can I offer?
The number of spaces and bookings you can offer is limited. This is to ensure that sitters take on only what they can handle and what is safe. The Pawshake team has determined those limits keeping in mind the actual numbers that sitters have historically been booked for.
Please note that this is the upper limit - it does not mean that you should necessarily strive to get that many bookings. Always take into account the circumstances, such as the space you have (if taking dogs into your own home) and your own experience. Also make sure you're aware and respectful of any limits imposed by local regulation, which may differ from our limits. Check with your local council if you're unsure.
The limits are as follows:
- Dog Boarding: 5 dogs
- Doggy Daycare: 5 dogs (please note: we recommend that you don't take in more than 5 dogs at a time across both services)
- Dog Walk: 6 dogs (please note: we recommend walking dogs separately, or no more than two at a time, for the safety and enjoyment of all involved)
- One Home Visit a day: 8 bookings
- Two Home Visits a day: 4 bookings
- House Sitting: 1 booking (since it implies sleeping over, and you can only sleep in one home at a time)
If you are expecting more requests than the limit, and are confident that you can take on more bookings while still providing an excellent service, please contact us. Our Trust and Safety team may decide to extend the limit in special cases.
