What services can I book through Pawshake and what do they include?

• At least 1 x photo update per day or house visit
• Keeping in contact with owners regarding any changes with the pet and if required bringing the pets to the vet when agreed to by the owner or in an emergency

• Feeding the pet as required
• Access to fresh water
• Dog is able to go to the toilet regularly
• Basic medication (non-injectables)
• Pets are kept in a hygienic condition - any messes of the pet are cleaned up, and any signs of illness or injury are reported to the owner

• Any behavioural issues of the pet are disclosed
• Any special requirements or instructions are written down for the sitter to prevent any misunderstanding. Click here for a list of subjects to discuss during the Meet & Greet, as well as an intake form for written agreements.
• Medication properly labelled, clear dosage instructions and timings (if applicable)
• Emergency contact details (person not travelling with the owner) are provided
• If feeding is required, enough pet food is provided

Dog Boarding

• Dog will not be left alone for longer than 3 hours
• Dog has space to move around and explore. Not to be tied up or kept in a crate for long periods of time.
• Secure space for dogs so they can't escape
• Dog has access to shade and a cool place when hot and a warm place when cold
• The environment is safe for the dog with no chance of the dog getting hurt or ingesting something it should not.
• For puppies, the environment should be puppy proof to ensure they can't accidentally destroy any belongings, hurt themselves or ingest something it should not.
• At least 1 hour of physical exercise (can be broken down as indoor/outdoor play, multiple walks or one long walk as per agreement with owners)

• Dog can be alone for periods of time - no more than 3 hours
• Dog is housetrained (if the dog is not housetrained, the sitter is informed prior to the booking)
• Bedding and walking equipment is provided
• Pick up and drop off times fall within the 24-hour time frame. For example, if drop off is at 9 am, pick-up should be at 9 am on the last day. Additional time (later pick-up) can be booked separately in the form of doggy daycare.

• Continuous monitoring of dogs in the sitter's care

• If it is too cold or too hot to walk the dog, alternative forms of physical exercise or enrichment for the dog as agreed to by the owner
• No off lead dog play unless allowed by the owner in an appropriate area

• Easy and safe access to the house/apartment

• If the owner has a security camera inside or outside the house, they need to disclose this to the sitter

• House/apartment locked up and secured after the booking
• Any keys must be returned at the end of the booking as instructed by the owner
• Collecting mail and taking out the garbage (if required)

• Price includes the care of up to 3 pets
• Cats - clean litter tray and spend time with the cat
• Dogs - spend time engaging and playing with the dog. Dogs will be brought out to the toilet.
• Puppies/senior dogs - clean up any mess made by the dog
• Small pets - Tidy cages and do a full clean if the booking is more than 4 days

• For dogs, the owner or friend/family will be returning home to the pets each day. This service is not a stand-alone solution for when an owner is away.
• Pets have access to shade and a cool place when hot and a warm place when cold
• Easy and safe access to the house/apartment
• Food and cleaning supplies in a convenient location (if applicable)
• If the owner has a security camera inside or outside the house, they need to disclose this to the sitter

• Housekeeping - collect mail, water plants, put out the bins on garbage day
• House/apartment locked up and secure after the booking
• Empty out rubbish, dirty dishes washed and put away, appliances in working order, bathroom and floors clean - to the same condition it was when sitter arrived
• Sitter will be the only person at the house at all times unless otherwise agreed with the owner
• Sitter spends the night at the owner's home, and keeps the pet company (duration of company during the day is subject to agreement)
• Any keys must be returned at the end of the booking as instructed by the owner
