If you have been bitten by a guest dog during a booking, please stay calm and follow these guidelines:
- First, be sure to prioritise your safety and the safety of others around you. If necessary and safe to do so, secure the dog in a quiet place away from other pets and people.
- Treat the dog bite by bathing it with warm water and soap, and wrap it in a sterile bandage. We recommend seeking medical treatment if the bite has pierced the skin and you are concerned about receiving an infection.
- Once the situation has been contained, please contact the Pawshake customer support team as soon as possible and inform us of the incident. You can do this by submitting a ticket to the help desk and selecting ‘I have an emergency’ as the contact reason.
- Contact the pet owner as soon as possible to let them know what has happened. If you can’t reach the pet owner, please get in touch with their emergency contact to discuss options for how to move forward.
Please note that you must discuss with the pet owner or their chosen emergency contact before making any alternative accommodation arrangements for the dog.
